Hi, I’m Amanda! I’m a Certified Lactation Consultant, La Leche League leader, and Birth doula. My passion for birth and breastfeeding begins with my two boys.
I have overcome many challenges with breastfeeding both of my boys like oral ties, breastfeeding a preemie, undersupply and oversupply, exclusively pumping, and recurring mastitis. I understand how difficult it can be to find support and navigate all of the misinformation that is common in our society. As a lactation consultant I strive for quality evidence based care and continued support long past your first consult. I am an oral tie savy provider and I am constantly working on continuing my education so I can provide the absolute best care. I truly believe that with proper support and education, all families can achieve their human milk feeding goals. Where there is a will, there is a way.
As a birth doula, I truly love supporting home birth and birth center Mamas. My own birth stories are what inspired me to become a doula. My first was a traumatic general anesthesia emergency C section. I was uneducated, in supported, and made choices from a place of fear and coercion. My second was my dream birth. A beautiful breech home birth fully supported, healing and empowering. I loved every moment of it. I learned how much of a difference having a doula makes! I am passionate about making sure moms have the support and education they need during such a transformative time in their life.
I live in Winchester with my husband who is a firefighter/paramedic, my two boys, and my obnoxiously loud beagle. I am proud to be an Autism mom and homeschool mom. During my off call time you can find me at the beach even in the winter. Dance is a lifelong passion of mine and after retiring from a professional career you can now find me hanging upside down learning crazy tricks. We spend most of our day outdoors and can often be found out on a nice hike.
